Worn Out...

We had a busy Saturday, although most of the day felt like waiting in lines or driving rather than actually doing much of anything!

Saturday morning, Olivia had her first eye doctor appointment. She's 20/25, but the doctor said that was normal and may have even been that she just was being a little shy when telling the doctor what letters she saw on the screen. So I'm not worried. I have always worried about her eyesight, not so much that I ever saw anything to worry about, but more of the fact that I started wearing eye glasses by the time I was one. Luckily it looks like Olivia inherited her Daddy's perfect eyesight...phew!

After the eye doctors, Olivia and I raced over to the Dulles Airport to watch Dan pull a plane! It was the annual Dulles Airport Plane Pull event that raises money for the Special Olympics. http://www.planepull.com/ Dan's company sponsored them in the event. It was fun to watch...but very very very HOT considering no shade was anywhere to be seen!
Then we ate lunch at Famous Daves and afterwards, drove down the Kennedy Center Open House. http://www.kennedy-center.org/calendar/index.cfm?fuseaction=showEvent&event=XHOPN It was very crowded. There was some fun activities for the kids, but we ended up taking turns standing in a line for 1.5 hours to see a 30 minute Susan Farrell Ballet. We wanted Olivia to see her first ballet performance. It was a nice show; however, in hindsight.....we wouldn't have waited so long to see it. Olivia did like the performance; however, she seemed to be more interested in the male dancers as she kept asking, "When are the boy ballerinas coming out?", LOL!

All day long, Olivia was asking about going on an elephant ride. When we were at the circus on Friday they were giving elephant rides. We thought that they would the ride after the show, but they did not. So we told her that if she listened and behaved all day we would go on an elephant ride....so we ended our evening with this....
