New York City

Jen, Bran, Amy, Colin, Dan and I all spent the weekend together, child-free, in New York City. We stayed at the W on Lexington and had a great time. We drove up on Friday and left Sunday.

Thanks to Jen, planner extraordinaire, we ate at two fabulous restaurants. The Garage, http://www.garagerest.com/, and Butter, http://www.butterrestaurant.com/, on Saturday night. On Friday night after dinner we found a little club (although I think we were the oldest ones there, lol) and danced the night away. The club included two poles to dance on...well Amy, Jen and I couldn't resist taking a few spins around the pole...totally fun, especially since we didn't know anyone there and would never see any of them every again, LOL, thank goodness!!

On Saturday, while the boys went to see the Mets play, the girls walked all oer town and shopped till we dropped. We visited the Garmat district and went to stores devoted to buttons, trims, ribbons, fabric, beads. It was a scrapbooker's dream - lots of fun. Then we went to Chelsea to a flea market. Lots of fun and interesting things to see. Then we went to Nolita to a Young Designers Art Market. Then ate lunch and cooled off a bit (very hot and humid weekend). Then it was off to Canal Street and China Town, where Jen bought Lex two little turtles, Chelsea and Houston, although I hear that Lex renamed them already. Then we visited a art shop on 54th street where we later learned was recently visited by Brad Pitt and Angelina Joli. We were totally exhausted by the time we arrived back at the hotel to get ready for dinner that evening.

On Saturday after dinner, we went out to the Gotham Comedy Club, http://www.gothamcomedyclub.com/. Saw three comedians, great way to end our NYC adventure.

Our trip to NYC will definitely become at least an annual adventure, a great time was had by all.
