Dan's most favorite thing to do (in the whole wide world, it seems) is to go hiking with his family! So at the first chance of nice weather, he's up the night before trying to find a nice trail (that will allow dogs!). So last weekend, we found a great 5.5 mile trail only about 30 minutes away. It was a great day - a little chilly to start, but most of the hike was uphill (ugh!) which quickly warmed us all up!
Of course there were lots of picture taking opportunities along the way!

Olivia needed to take a little 'rest' half way up ... it was a long hike but she did awesome! She loves leading the way - following the white trail markers!
We reached the summit - halks nest! It was beatiful and such a nice warm day. The sun felt fantastic and we loved soaking it in! We were treated with some rock climbers all around us - that was fun to watch. We had a nice little picinic lunch before heading back down.

Olivia led the way home - Dan and I were exhausted, but this little trooper was 'miles' ahead of us!
Olivia filled Dan's pockets with trinkets from the trail - this one wouldn't fit in his pocket - so I guess this is the next best place to keep it??!!
