Well, Sunday finally arrived and off we went. It was a perfect day. Rosie loved to hike and climbed the rocks like a little trooper with Olivia leading the way. Then half way up the trail, I jumped from a tiny little rock (not-at-all classified as dare devilish) and landed right on my ankle. It hurt so bad that I spontaneously and immediately burst into tears. I never cry like that, so Dan knew I must have really hurt it .... everyone walking past on on the trail looking at me only added to my embarrassment and made me cry harder as I desperately tried to stop! I was a mess! Finally, after a few minutes I regained my composure and stood up and tried my very best to hobble the remaining 1.5 miles out of there. With each passing minute, my ankle kept swelling and swelling. When we finally made it home and took my shoe off, it looked awful!
Today I went to the doctors to have it x-rayed, and it's not broken, but badly sprained. Which, the doctor so nicely said to me that it would have been better off broken since they heal faster...well thank you very much!
I am just so mad because I have been doing so well exercising and all the running I do...I don't know when I'm going to be able to get back into my routine....I really hope that I'll only be off it for a week or week and 1/2 (prayers please :-)).

This is about 1/2 the size it is now!

Thank stinks TAG! I hope it heals fast-- I was the queen of ankle sprains in high school and your doctor is right, a fracture heals more quickly in some respects. A warning for you-- once you sprain it once, it is so much easier to turn again. Wear a brace and be careful!
