An alternative title for this post could be, "Making the best of it." This weekend we headed up to the Shenandoah park to camp. We should have called ahead because when we arrived, our favorite camp ground, Loft Mt., was full...as was every other camp ground within 20 miles on the sky line drive.

When Olivia heard the park ranger tell us that, she started crying. She wanted so bad to camp and cook marshmallows on the fire. So we decided to 'make due' with whatever we could find. The only campground around was this one....now don't laugh, this is not our usual camping digs, but we were forced to make a choice between driving all the way home with a sad and crying little girl in the backseat or take our chances at the "Stamford and Son" campground. This was the first time I wasn't afraid of bears, but rather 'people' while camping, LOL! So wanting to teach our daughter to 'make the best of it'...we set up camp. Albeit, it wasn't so bad...other than the noise of Rt.33 all night long. We had our fire, Olivia cooked marshmallows, and we slept in a tent....that's all that mattered to our 5 year-old anyway.
