Olivia's Birthday Party

Wednesday, June 11, 2008

The birthday party was a success. We had approximately 20 5-year olds at our house on one of the hottest days of the year, a record breaker. I was so focused on praying for no rain that I forgot to ask for a break on the heat as well. No matter, the kids had a fun time and no one passed out from heat exhaustion. It helped that we had fans, snow cones and the sprinklers came on at the end of the party. Here are some party highlights...

Dan, Olivia and I in the moon bounce before the party started.

We had a carnival theme and one of the games was to throw water balloons at Uncle Billy. We must have filled 200 balloons...and they were gone in a matter of minutes. We called this game, "Sitting Duck", quite appropriate. Billy actually had the most coveted seat in the house...given the heat!

I hired a clown to make balloon animals and paint faces on the kids.
Pete was busy making snow cones for the kids.

Olivia loved her cupcake tower.

The sprinkler was a huge hit. Cooled all the kids off while the parents sat on the porch drinking a cold beer.

It was all worth it for this little sweetie...our five year old. How time flies! Happy Birthday Olivia!

A special thanks to Tammy, Billy, Judy, Pete, Chloe (our neighbor's daughter) Teresa and Andy...we couldn't have done it without all your help. You're the best!
